    Spring-Summer Session:  March 1st – August 30th 2015 - Four interns will be accepted this session. We are accepting applications starting January, 2015 until filled.  References will be requested for all applicants who pass an initial interview. Overview: The internship offers extensive education about the day-to-day operations of a full-time functioning Permaculture farm and education center, and is geared specifically for those deeply interested in and drawn to work long-term with holistic, integrated food producing animal systems in a community setting, with an educational focus.  This opportunity offers broad practical experience to complement a theoretical knowledge base.     Spring Session:  March 16 – April 13, 2015 - Two apprentices will be accepted this session.  With Sasha Rabin, Betty Seaman, & Paul Swenson Cob building combines clay sediment, sand, fiber, and water, and is hand sculpted to form walls, benches, ovens, and fireplaces. Cob building makes use of readily available, affordable, non-toxic materials to build beautiful, organic structures. The course is appropriate for both first-time builders and for professionals in the building trade who are interested in natural materials. In this cob workshop, we focus on the characteristics of the natural materials most commonly used in construction: clay soil, sand, and fibers.     A Wild Series Workshop in Earth-Based Crafts and Skills April 17 - 19, 2015 Instructor: Natalie Bartlett Beautiful footwear made sustainably from natural materials has been worn by human beings for thousands of years. In this class students will create a pattern customized to their own feet, and learn to craft a pair of short moccasins using genuine brain-tanned buckskin and vegetable tanned leather. This will be a 2 piece style moccasin, with a harder sole for longer wear.     A Wild Series Workshop in Earth-Based Crafts and Skills May 16 - 17, 2015 Instructor: JT Beggs Explore the delicious, fragrant and storied California landscape by learning to identify edible, utilitarian and poisonous species. Students will become acquainted with much of the local flora of Burges canyon and begin to develop real relationships to the world of plants. In this two day class we will dive into cuisine, culture, history, natural living skills, and stewardship. Classes include meals featuring traditional recipes that integrate wild foods.
