Blaine Morris is a Creative & Full Spectrum Doula. Her holistic support practice, which spans global communities and clinical settings, is rooted in a decolonized praxis of wellness. As an Afro Latina first-generation Honduran American, she is deeply committed to amplifying culturally grounded care. Raised in the arts on the northeastern coast of Turtle Island and shaped by the tropical waters and mangroves of the Caribbean, Blaine’s eco-feminist vision draws on the methodology of cuerpo territorio—the understanding that our bodies are intrinsically linked to the land and its ecosystems. This philosophy informs her approach to reproductive justice and environmental justice, and has deeply influenced her participation in delegations with the Witness For Peace Solidarity Collective where she learned from campesino farmer cooperatives organizing in defense of their land, water protectors in Guapinol facing violence in the Aguán region, and healthcare providers and urban food system advocates in Havana, Cuba. In 2022 Blaine founded Sana Sana Wellness, a monastic maternal health nonprofit centered on learning and growing within community. She also currently serves as a Leadership Circle member of the Latina Institute for Reproductive Justice.

Since arriving on Chumash land, Blaine has dived into the local water world here! As Program Co-Director at Quail Springs, she’s leading the CalEPA Environmental Justice Action Grant—Building Cuyama Valley’s Coalition of Water Stewards—in addition to building community in the region as the Outreach Coordinator of the Small Farmer and Rancher Network. Through her work Blaine seeks to cultivate and support spaces of sustainable care, transformation through stewardship, and resilient communities deepening connection to the land we share.
